Moscow Modern History Tour
Moscow is a city which has
seen huge changes in the last 100 years and our Modern
History Tour concentrates on the upheavals of the 20th
Century with particular focus on the Great Patriotic War
1941-1945.
The following is only a suggested itinerary - no two
educational tours we do are the same so please use the
following as an indication only
Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Moscow,
arrival transfer to hotel
Day 2
Panoramic City
Sightseeing tour with your expert guide. See the main sights
of Moscow including Red Square, The Kremlin (from the
outside - we save the trip inside to Day 3), Bolshoi Theatre
and the city viewpoint at Sparrow Hills. Following the City
Tour you have a typical Russian lunch in a restaurant near
Red Square followed by a walk along this historic Arbat
street with artists and street-sellers and finally a tour of
the magnificent Moscow Metro - the most beautiful Metro in
the world by far.
Day 3 Moscow History Museum -
One of the oldest
museums in Moscow, the museum has plenty of exhibits that
show how Moscow grew to the city it is today. A large part
of the fund is the archaeological collection, but there are
also plans and maps of Moscow, reproductions of the city in
paintings and drawings and a sculptural reconstruction of
the city done by M M Gerasimov as well as many other items
of interest
. After lunch, free time. Evening Moscow State Circus
Day 4 Morning State Historical Museum
fascinating
archeological exhibitions charting the history of Russian
civilization from its Neanderthal beginnings to the 20th
century.
After lunch Armed Forces Museum
details the history
and victories of the Russian Army and Navy through 24 halls
of fascinating exhibits and military hardware, including a
T-34 tank, a ballistic missile, a MiG-25 and numerous
original uniforms, banners, regimental standards, medals and
hand weaponry
Day 5 Departure transfer to the airport
